Feedback "Where I live" Event Graffiti Table Minimize

The where I live event was put together by members of the accommodation & support sub-group.

The event was advertised the event widely - flyers went to doctor’s surgeries, the people first drop-in and support agencies. We had 2 articles in living magazine, which is delivered free to every house in Havering and we had an interview on link fm (local radio station) plus mentions in their events page.

It was a chance for people with learning disabilities, their carers, relatives and supporters to get information about some of the housing choices available, how to access them and what support choices there are in Havering.

We asked Jackson’s café to sell cakes and drinks

The event was held on Saturday 20th march 2010 at the Salvation Army Romford from 11.00am-4pm.

We held the event on a Saturday to make it easier for people who work or are at college to come along too
about 200 people came along.

We chose the salvation army because it is opposite Jackson’s and near to buses with good parking.

The mayor of Havering, Cllr Roger Ramsey & his wife, the Mayoress, came to the where I live event.

There were 12 stalls plus Jackson’s café and a graffiti table (for feedback) at the event.

An information folder was put together before the event and was handed out to interested visitors for information that they could take away and we have brought some along today.

Some of the stall holders would like to talk at the partnership board.

All the feedback has been very positive.
